    Basements & Garages Early Internet users occupied basements and garages in fluorescent lights as they built motherboards and argued on newsgroups. Then came normalcy of the web which invaded all homes, bringing users out of the basement and into the family room, kitchen or home office where everyone could check their AOL account or play a shoot 'em up game.
